Kike-Lola Odusanya wrote this book to start a real conversation with women who are intent on building a business and quitting their 9-5. Retiring from the corporate world into your own gig is no easy feat so I appreciate a book that tells all on how to do it and not just that but manage the entire process effectively and seamlessly. According to the product description, My Boss Is Me: The Book is “an unfiltered series of notes based on Kike’s real life experiences as a serial entrepreneur. Get insight on everything from ground-up, planning to growing your new business to generating enough income to do whatever you want and to start living the life you’ve been dreaming of. My Boss Is Me is a real conversation about what it takes to build a business, become your own boss and quit your 9-5 job.”
According to author, Pauleanna Reid, “Everything I Couldn’t Tell My Mother is a coming-of-age story for any woman who has ever questioned her sexual maturity and readiness, stayed silent at a time when she should have spoken up. Aaliyah Panarese is the teenage daughter of successful, overprotective parents who want the best for her but rarely consider her hopes and dreams. Frustrated and too cowardly to express her dreams of becoming a writer, she escapes life’s harsh realities by journaling heartfelt letters to her mother inside a diary, hoping that one day they will be the keys to rebuilding trust and strengthening the emotional connection lacking between them. Aaliyah follows the crowd, breaks her parents’ rules and is quickly thrown into a battlefield marked with peer pressure, self-loathing, sexual discovery and broken friendships.
