  1. Satin Scarf or Bonnet: Having a satin scarf or hair bonnet is like an absolute no brainer especially if you have natural hair. It is important for preserving your hairstyle, locks the moisture into your hair when the weather is dry and stops your ends from getting damaged when you sleep. Also, the satin lining is soft and slippery to the touch so it helps to protect your curls from harsh elements that break your ends.
  2. Afro Comb: If you have super curly hair, then the afro comb comes high recommended and it perfect for detangling. The reinforced ends and double spaced rows of teeth make your task even easier. The comb doesn’t need to be too fancy. A plastic or wooden will do the same job but personally I tend to stay away from the ones that have the metal spikes only because it can poke the scalp but they completely effective as well. Try all of them out and then stick with the one you like.
  3. Bobby Pins: These goods are great for those unfortunately bad hair days when you just need to whip up your hair into a bun or tuck loose ends into place to prevent the hair from scattering and flying all around in the air. When in need, just skip the gel and opt for a bobby pin. It is always good to keep a full pack of pins handy in your hair closet and also in. your handbag for when you will need it.
  4. Plastic Shower Caps: Don’t be found wanting when it is time to jump in the shower! You will need something to protect your newly done hairstyle such as braids of a weave from the water. Many women have no problem getting their hair wet multiple times in the shower but unless you are washing your hair everyday, this can get a little damaging for natural hair. A plastic shower cap will help shield your hair.
  5. Butterfly clips: These are great for clamping down the hair when styling. If you usually style your hair in sections, you would want to keep certain sections in place and butterfly clips are good for doing just that. Just like bobby pins, clips tend to get missing and misplaced very easily so always ensure you have a good supply in your handbag as well.

And it is a wrap! Did I miss anything? What are your favourite go-to items and hair tools for styling your curls?
