Most people think blonde hair on dark skin is an anomaly. But google the term “blonde hair for dark skin” and so many links will appear. Many celebrities from Beyonce to Gabrielle Union to Tara Banks have rocked the blonde look well and they always look fabulous. Are you a dark skinned girl thinking of trying blonde hair? It is easy to become lost because there is a lot of confusion on the internet about the different shades of blonde hair, what they are named and how they are classified.
It is important to know that there is no hard and fast rule about which one looks better over the other. It all boils down to a matter of preference and your sense of style. It also depends on what colour hue you choose and how well it suits your skin tone. However, the last thing you want is a hair style done wrong so here are some tips to help as you make this important decision. For the sake of clarity, we have bundled the blonde hair types into five major styles.
Caramel Blonde: Sweet as it sounds, this tone is both stylish and delectable. The key to this look is that it looks like a light brown colour that lies at the end of the dark blonde spectrum right before brunette and would go very well with black roots. Variations also include the popular dirty blonde.
Honey Blonde: It’s a little lighter than the caramel blonde but twice as nice with a warm glow to prove it. With this look, your hair will always look like it is lightly sun-kissed.
Golden Blonde: The golden blonde is just like it says – golden. It is a very sharp gold look for blonde hair on skin. Rihanna wears this style well and it suits her skin tone.
Platinum Blonde: The platinum look is a mix that lies between gold and grey. It looks great on darker shades skin tones.
Icy Blonde: This is almost like or equivalent to having grey/white hair. If you are willing and proud to look like a stunning silver fox then by all means, go ahead and dare to wear this look.
That said, if you are bleaching your natural hair then you will have to up your hair care regimen to keep your strands super moisturized and healthy. Otherwise, if you feel that messing with your natural hair colour is a bit of a stretch, you can always try wigs. Wearing wigs are a great way to switch up your looks on a daily without putting the added stress on your natural hair.

Which of these looks would you be brave enough to try?
I think blonde hair on dark skin looks really cool. And yes as you have shown it can work in lots of different shades of blonde. And not all light skin looks good with blonde per say. I have very light skin but it also has lots of pink in it thanks to my Irish roots ugh. So not everything looks good with pink lol.

Nice to know!… blonde is a great hair colour. I love seeing other people wear it with confidence. I have been contemplating dyeing my hair a nice golden blonde as well.
