Spring has finally sprung and the weather leaves some room for a milder solution to the winter jacket – trench coats. Although it is not yet warm enough to ditch the winter jacket, you will need a coat that can keep you dry, shielded you from the rain and not completely frozen from the cold. Finding a good trench coat depends on your style and the type of aesthetic you prefer. Traditionally, most trench coats are double-breasted because their roots date back to the English and French military but yours definitely does not have to be.
There are a lot of modern styles and looks to the trench coat these days that it is easy to find something that will fall within your preferences. You will notice that like some winter jackets, trench coats come with a belt at the waist. This is so you can adjust it to fit your frame and comfort level. I usually gravitate towards bold, bright colours such as reds and mustard yellows but even these are not always available.
